So after my loss of half my tank. I decided to empty the fish to a QT
Tank currently has 3 peppermint shrimp.
Some turbo snails, hermits etc.
Has some hammer corals and green torch. The tank is about 2 months old.

need some tips on what to do about these issues , I have a 75g with 2 HoB filters .

-how long do I fallow

-tank is cloudy from breaking it down and catching fish. Algae / bacteria bloom

can I do a water change ? Clean filters ? not sure 100% what to do here. Any advice is helpful , thank you. I do run carbon in my filters currently.

also I plan to treat fish with copper currently and return them to have a fresh start on a new fish live stock

Fallow for velvet should be 6 weeks.

On water changes, cleaning, other maintenance, it's up to you. It won't make a difference as far as disease is concerned.

Here's an idea; try slowing down.

Your tank is 2 months old and already you have to go fallow. This is because you don't personally quarantine.

I would do a complete break down of the tank and start over. This time, quarantine. And do your own quarantine. Do not rely on fish stores or websites that say they quarantine. It's BS.

As far as cleaning, I am concerned ab the foggy water
Oh. Bacterial and algae blooms usually right themselves. I'd give it a couple days and see if things settle. Water changes don't seem to help bacterial blooms, in my experience. UV or really small pore size filters can help.

OP is pulling fish to medicate and will QT from now on.

No need to break down and start over. The velvet will die out on its own in a fishless system.

how long do I fallow : 45-60 days at 80.5 degrees

-tank is cloudy from breaking it down and catching fish. Algae / bacteria bloom: Use filter socks or similar to entrap small micron particles, even a hang on back power filter temporarily for entrapment

can I do a water change ? Yes
Clean filters ? Yes, cleaning will allow entrapment of suspended matter causing cloudiness

Treat in quarantine with coppersafe instead of copper and assure to use a Good quality copper test kit (not API brand either) at therapuetic level 2.25-2.5

Ruby Rally pro would also work in the QT tank

Thank you :)

How much would you recommend ? Considering the point I’m at and doing a Fallow ? Still 25% water change ?
