I had velvet in DT. I am trying to go fallow in main tank - mr goby is still on the loose. BUT I think I made a mistake. I have a 10 gallon tank that the fish are going through copper treatment. (I only have 3 surviving fish). When I did a water change I used the water from velvet tank to top off my 15 gallon nano. I was planning on putting the fish after copper in this nano. But I probably infected this tank with velvet and now that one has to go fallow.

I'm I correct on this?

There’s a chance you infected it for sure. You can save time by moving what you have in the nano to your display and then bleach the nano tank, let it completely dry for a few days. It’ll be safe to use after.

I would just let the both sit fallow. If you want the extra 5 gallons, I agree with above.

Move everything in the nano to the DT, and let it sit in there fallow.

Sterilize the nano, and set it back up (using none of the live rock / chaeto from the original nano setup).

If it’s just potential contaminated water that went across from the DT to nano... only “free swimmers” would have transferred, which should completely die out after about two weeks with no fish host. I am also assuming your tanks are at least 10’ apart to prevent any airborne cross contamination.
