That's a good question. Not sure the answer, but perhaps @Humblefish or @4FordFamily knows the answer

I believe it would possibly eliminate free swimmers, but not other stages of the parasite. I am not educated on coral enough to know if coral can or can not handle freshwater, like a fish can for 5 minutes at a time. Link below may be of assistance as well.

It will not kill off any encysted tomonts. That said, living coral tissue will not harbor any cysts. Bare skeleton and coral plugs carry the risk.

I’m assuming you are talking about coral dips like CoralRX. Do not dip coral in fresh water.

Thanks all, both clowns came from my display to my qt, fine for 2 weeks and today I woke up they were fine, few hours later and they’re both dead

Sorry for your loss, I too; had the misfortune of not being able to quarantine new fishes. I lost all the fish in the tank from Velvet within a week and had to go fallow for more than 2 months. Now, I will never take a chance again, all these years of being lucky had caught up with me. If you have fish in the tank, it will be difficult to get rid of that pest.
