I'm getting frustrated with velvet!!! I'm sure it's my fault. Went fishless for 72 days. QT some new fish with copper and GC over a month. Fish all looked good in QT put them in DT two days later boom covered yellow tang in dust. So all fish back into QT with copper. Should I use API GC again? Should I use API E.M erythromycin or API fin &a body cure?

If you’re sure it’s velvet then copper should knock it out on its own. Have you tried doing a fw dip to rule out flukes?

Yep they all got freshwater twice now. I've lost fish in the past from to much copper so I thought I would try lower than recommended copper my bad.

So I'm about 24 hours in QT just wondering if I should use a broad spectrum control of bacterial infections E.M or body & fin? And any tips on using them like the GC two rounds 5 days apart?

Have you already dosed copper in QT?

Are there any signs of bacterial infections? If so, then use. The treatments range from 10-14 days and longer.

Personally, I avoid adding abx in copper as the combo depletes O2 quickly, which can be countered by increasing flow etc.

Yep when I first put them in QT copper was close and just now made sure it was right on with Hanna checker. Still see bumps in the right light.

I've had this QT setup running for close to year now. Just running bio-balls and a air powered sponge filter and sometimes a DE filter.
