I need some advice. Lost most of my fish to a velvet outbreak a few months ago. I still have 2 Chromis and a Diamond Goby that never got it and are still alive and thriving. They are still in my DT. Will the velvet die off even though I have 3 fish that seem immune to it?

You can remove the fish an allow it to run fallow, 6 weeks. Only guaranteed way to rid it.

You can remove corals/inverts and run tank 35+ days hypo 1.009 SG at all times, but we have heard of it not working for some.

I’ve thought about removing the fish but my train of thought is if the velvet isn’t attaching to fish then it can’t reproduce and the tank should be free of velvet right? I could be way off on this but that’s just my thoughts on it.

No it could be dormant or active on the fish or in the tank. Some fish just have stronger immune system at the moment. You need to fallow the tank or risk other fish deaths as new fish are introduced. I had 2 fish survive brook so I'm familiar with your situation.

I was hoping to avoid that but if I also don’t want to kill any more fish. Im going to go fallow for 90 days.

It's the safest way and run a therapeutic treatment for velvet for your remaining fish to be clear there too. I believe if you raise temp on DT you can shorten the fallow period depending on inverts and corals or course but need to confirm that.
