After waiting for what it seemed an eternity, I am finally getting my pair of Ventralis Anthias out of QT. What are your thoughts regarding these fish?

Can wait to post pictures tomorrow!

These fish need cooler water temps for long term survival. Ideally, between 71-75 max, they also are super shy and need really peaceful tankmates and take a while to adjust to bright light. Other than that they feed pretty readily!

Thank you! I'll keep that in mind and the temperature is perfect as they are going in with my Rainbow Bottom Nem, I keep it at 75 degrees . The only other fish is a small tang :/ I hope they get along

Have you own any long term?

The longest I have own them has been 6 weeks in QT lol

I had one for like 2 months it was doing awesome and then POOF it vanished. My temps were around 76-78 during the day, though :(

I think they really need a tank built around them to be successful for years. So if you got your baby tang don't add like anything else haha.

I'm at 78.5, bright lighting and so far they are growing and appear healthy. Wish me luck, I'm 8 weeks going so far. I have no aggressive fish in the tank.
