i would say yes, vermetid. Get rid of them if you can.

Not only do they irritate near bye corals with those gross webs they throw out, they can rapidly multiply and become a problem for corals. I had to remove a center piece and frag everything because the stinkers were all over it growing into the bases of my corals. They will deform coral growth. When your coral grows over them they just increase their tubes up and up at all kinds of wacky angles deforming the look of the original coral colony.

i hate those things more than aiptasia

Bumble Bee snails on my shopping g list!!
They are also good at cleaning out leftover food in the rock work and eating small pests. They did not completely get rid of my Vermatid problem, but they kept the population in check.

Caution though they are a species of whelk and if they get hungry they will go after your small or weak mollusks.

Thanks for the info. I had a couple in the past. Haven't seen them lately. Maybe that explains the vermetid population explosion.

Over a year ago I had a lot, and like aptasia they have an affinity for my zoa garden. Their webbing kept me near by zoas closed, my fruit loops melted before I realized the cause. I threw in a half a dozen and haven’t seen a vermatid In over a year. Bumblebee or still in there without any ill affects.
