Vermetid Snail?

Hi!

New to reefing and first thread - so be patient, please.

I bought a monti from a dirty tank at a LFS and dropped it right in the tank (yes, I now know it was an idiot move) and I got some hitchhikers. I am posting a lousy picture (sorry) of something that is WITHIN my coral. It appears to have been 'grown over' and all I ever see is the 'feather duster' extending from a tube. There are some small brown tubes extending from the back of the plate (not pictured) as well. I have tried to get a better picture, but I'm working with only my phone camera.

Yea , that pic is lousy. Lol.

Off hand it looks kinda like feather dusters. Also a tube worm. Do they retract If you poke em or blow water. At them ?
A cool one if so.

It also sorta looks like a coral.

Thanks for the welcome! I will try and get a better pic again.
It really doesn't retract with water or flow - I haven't poked it yet. I'll try that when I get home.

UPDATE: There was enough going on with this coral that I decided to get it out of my tank so I could relax lol. Took it to my LFS for a small store credit.

I bought some new coral, AND THIS TIME, brought it home and dipped it (along with a zoa frag from my display that looked distressed.) It felt good to do things a little more like the 'recommended procedures' instead of throwing things in the tank straight from the LFS! Plus, seeing dead critters in the bottom of the bayer mix drove home the value of doing the right thing!
