Hey, this might be a stupid question, but I’m going to ask it anyway.

So a couple of weeks back I noticed my corals covered in a web, so I inspected the area and found a vermetid snail in a frag. I don’t mess with Vermetid so I inspected everything else and found some in a piece of live rock. I removed the rock and let it out and it’s probably been out for I’d say... 3 weeks now? So I went back, inspected the rock again and found all the dried up vermetid snails and realized there were A LOT. I picked them out and now the rock looks free off all vermetid snail cadavers. Would it be safe for me to put the rock back in my display? Or should I take more action?

How pounds is your rock and how many gallons is your tank

I had a very bad case of vermetid snails. The outbreak killed all my corals. I would be hesitant to put it back in your tank.

3 weeks out of water is a long time. If you were in AZ, I would tell you to leave it one day out in the sun and that would just about kill everything.

I would be careful of the dead stuff on your rock if you were to put it back in your tank. I would suggest a bleach and mild acid dips, and then a day or two in the sun. I am sure everything will be dead by then and you will have clean rock. I would go with the mild acid unless you want to lose 10% or so of your rock.
