I got a new duncan coral frag and until a few days ago, it was extended beautifully. It recently started closing up and only opening part way sometimes and then retracting very quickly and randomly. I recently noticed what appears to be a vermetid snail growing off the base of the skeleton. What is the best way to remove the snail before it spreads without harming the duncan at all?

Pliers, carefully. Or superglue the opening.
