YES! Do waht you can to get rid of them. They will clog up your plumbing, irritate your corals and multiply like rabbits

All there to do now is scrape as much you can of and keep numbers down. Definitely don’t let you nutrients go to zero they will start an infestation

My losing battle in my 180 reef.

Here's some more close ups of one I found on my heater how long can they last in freshwater or out of water?

They are pretty durable. A fresh water dip will not kill them. You have to use crazy glue to seal the tubes, crush the curled base where they live or scrape off as many as you can in a bucket, then use your hand and feel for small bumps on the surface you’ve just cleaned. If you feel a bump or roughness, then scrub that area to be certain there’s not a baby starting to grow. The babies thati have found are clear with no color. Rinse everything well, they will hide in every crevice. I’m not sure how long they will last out of water.

He has both in the first picture. Look at the tubes, spirorbid worms has more of a flat swirl tube and the vermetid has the point out, i’m going to stick you tube.

Am I the only one that doesn’t think these are vermetids except for the top 3? They look just like spirorbid worms which are harmless filter feeders…
I agree. Both are unsightly in the display IMO but i can't beat them =(

Nope, me too. I would not say 100% that the top ones are vermetid, the could be goofy spirorbid.
