so my tank is about 15 months old, 100g display with a 30g sump.
everything is growing well (slow but well). i have a mix of everything, shrooms, zoas, acan, acros, montis etc. the tank is stable to the point now i just change out my AWC containers every 2 weeks and make sure the fish are fed.

problem is these dang tiny little 2-3mm little hard tubes of garbage life. at first there were a few, and i smashed or glued up what i can, but now every rock has them, when i feed the tank i see them spew their little mucus nets. how do they reproduce? what can i do to stop them? anything that will eat them?

tankmates are:
yellow and kole tang
foxface
royal and melarnus wrasse
blue throat trigger
some firefish and dartfish
and a few clowns

normal snail CUC.

can i add anything to kill these suckers off?

TIA

I have heard KZ’s coral snow helps. It works as a binder to the floating particles and strips out food source for these snails. I have some in my tank too but not to the point of every rock. So I just occasionally crash them if I see the mucus bothering any corals.

I had a black saddled Toby puffer in my reef that picked them off the rocks. Sadly he died in a recent move, but definitely replacing him

I’m telling you as a person that had massive amounts of these pests in my tank that coral snow really works....there’s nothing left but dead stalks were they used to feed out of and I’m just going through and mowing them down whenever I have my hands in the tank. I was surprised but it really did work.

is it dosed as per the instructions? seems like 1ml per 25gallons or are there different ratios for trying to kill the snails. does it harm anything else?

Just curious how long did you have to use it for it to work. Just strange that I haven’t really seen others confirm if this will really help with Vermitid Snails.

I noticed after 4 applications that things were changing....I don’t use it that often but it’s obvious they are dead.

On my bottle of coral snow plus the dosage is 1 ML per 100 L. And no it does not harm anything else also according to the instructions your water will be cloudy for a few hours but it is harmless and as a bonus it clears your water up very nicely.

Just ordered some and going to give it a go to see what happens. I did order the Pro version. Will use it instead of GFO for now.

Did you dose daily for four days? I am going to give it a shot.
Thanks.
