Saw a couple of these guys on some of the newer frag plugs.

Are these "young" vermitid or something else?

I've got vermitid in QT and they don't really look like those so figured I'd ask. They are these almost glass looking tubular stems. They aren't super hard, but not completely soft. I break keep plucking them but they seem to come back. Wife calls them glass whiskers... Probably best description for them.

Spirorbid worms. Good guys.

You mean the little white things? Spirorbid worms i believe. I have tons of them in my tank. Theyve kinda taken over lots of my rock crevasses and my UV, but totally harmless, even beneficial I would say. Ive had them for about 2 months now and my tank is doing better.

I would guess the start of some sort of algae. If you have tweezers or forceps, you might be able to pull it off of the plug without damaging the zoas.

+1 spirorbids. They are harmless until they ransack your sump & hose up your skimmer

I think the OP is talking about the sprig in the red circle in the 3rd photo. I agree with you that the worms on the base of the plug are spirorbids.
