Just a tip: Never act fast without doing lots of research or asking on this forum. More damage can be done by acting impulsively. Besides even if it was a pest it’s not going to take over your tank that quickly.

Update:
I kept cleaning the web-like stuff out and its mostly gone. Didn’t see any new growth. Life is good again
