alright guys. So the tanks is kind of old. But also kind of new.

Half the rock has been live for like 2 years. The other half has only been live for like 3 months. The tank is completely infested with vermitid snails. I literally have like 2 snails per square inch.

I only have about 6 Corals in the tank and they can all be removed. I have a large frag system where all my other Corals are.

The only negative side of starting over is the time it will take to kill, then make the rock live again!

The benefit is being able to be better about introduction of these pesky critters

I unfortunately got them on a frag and spread throughout my system. I broke off as many as I could find not long ago, knowing that they could come back, but their numbers finally decreased and now there isn't any to speak of.

They are very dependant on food and if you can, feed just enough to feed your fish for a month or two. They will starve out.

I to have a ton. But this is because my skimmer I used from the beginning was junk. They will slowly decrease in time

I would think that a vernetid snail outbreak of epic proportions would be a sign of overfeeding. I could definitely be wrong but that would my guess.
I would think so too!

But I don’t overfeed the tank at all! I wonder if it’s part of the new tank syndrome

If it were me, I'd take that rock out behind the woodshed and teach it a thing or two with a wire brush.
Rinse like crazy and leave it live

Adding an agressibe organics binder like gac might help, and its been noted that KZ coral snow will bind the organics as well and starve them out.

I also have this issue with these dam vermitid snails,I cut down on feeding reef roids. Target feed the corals only with mysis shrimp and chop up shrimp. Once in a while I get my hand in the tank and smash them with a flat head screw driver! Careful with your hands I got hurt using my fingers to break them apart from the live rock.
