I just set up my QT yesterday for a 3/4 seeded sponge from my display and some biospira. Fish are showing any minute.

Have an air stone in there with an aquaclear 50 on the back. Power head lightly disrupting the surface.

I’m using a versa top lid to help keep in the heat and limit evap. Is that ok? My concern is around air/gas exchange. It’s a 20L with two 1.25” clowns going in.

Thanks! (I hate rotated photos btw)

Any thoughts on wether these lids are good for QT setups? Concern is keeping it too closed in and not enough exchange

If you have an air stone running it should be fine. I'm not familiar with those lids, but if its glass and creates a full seal, maybe prop one edge open a little to allow gas exchange. If its a screen top then you are fine with an air stone.

Thanks, airstone is in there and it’s not a full seal. The HOB has an opening too so it does have the ability to air out.

let’s just hope these small opening don’t come back to bite me when I qt wrasses

Oh yea you are good with a HOB also. I use rags to cover the gaps in my QT top when I have wrasses in there. Just an idea.
