An opinions on this? I've got a Bubble Magus Curve 5 on my Reefer 170 right now. I really don't need a new skimmer but BRS has them 30% off. Regularly $399.99 for $279.99. Seems like a good deal. Figured I'd wait till Black Friday to purchase new gear considering I don't need anything but this is a little tempting. Thoughts?

Yea I wouldn't. Lots of people say that's a super finicky skimmer.
I believe that is because people tend not to leave the Skimmers alone. They see that it may not be producing foam and adjust it meanwhile its like a hour after they fed or had their hands in the water doing something. It does take some time to adjust but when done right I would say 99% set and forget. The water level must be very consistent in the sump as they are quite sensitive to any change.

I love mine after about 6 weeks .......but IT DOES NOT LIKE being messed with or water level changes .....get it set and it makes nasty stuff! ohhhhh and I got mine for 399.99 that sale broke my heart!

For a Reefer 170 no way. My Vertex 150 was on steroids when I put in a bio pellet reactor on a 120 tank it stripped my tank. It actually worked better PS that is a good price on the skimmer.
