I believe that I'm having problems getting my 180i setup properly.

I've tried setting it in water levels from 7 3/4" to 8 3/4". But I can't seem to get good skim production from it.

I've got it opened to about 40% and I've set the air intake setting on the pump from fully closed to open about 2 turns.

It seems like all I can get is extremely pale yellowish water in the collection cup. And that's less than a 1/4" of water in about 3 days.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

How old is your tank, and how many fish?
Skimmate is really dependable on how much you feed the fish, and fishes poop you got.
Also, if the skimmer is new. Give it time to break in.

Tank is 1 year old. 100 gallon total water volume.
About 15 fish.
Skimmer is at least 4 months old.
My nitrates have gotten up to about 80 now.
Phosphates at about .12.

Wonder if I should try to set the 180i skimmer on something so it's only 6.5 to 7 inches deep in the water in the sump.
