I received a used Vertex 130 Skimmer I purchased on ebay today and it appears to have been damaged in shipping. The plastic tab that sticks out of the neck of the skimmer and has the set screw which fixes the red tube cracked off. It looks like it was never attached well to begin with.
I would really prefer not to return it (I am sure the seller feels the same way!), its appears to otherwise be a good skimmer (pending testing the pump) and I would like to repair it. How feasible is it to attempt to epoxy this back in place? It dry fits quite snugly now. I have not done any marine DIY projects, I am not sure what I should use. My only experience with plastics is styrene welding for models.
Pictures attached. Thanks..
