My vertex omega 150 pump impeller has some ceramic that chipped off. I was interested in a replacing the whole pump if possible. Quick search got me the tunze 9420 but I didn't know if another pump could work. Or if a aftermarket impeller shaft is available and a option. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I have the same skimmer and have wondered if there’s a replacement pump and parts. So I did a little looking.

Have you contacted Synergy Reef to see if they’ll sell you a replacement pump? Their web site says all custom. “Pinwheel impeller and custom V-150 skimmer pump – custom built by Sicce for Vertex”

I did find this link for just the impeller but I don’t know much about that jlaquatics company.

I think the pump is a Sicce SK series pump. I just couldn’t determine if it’s the SK200 , SK400, or the SK600. I’d guess the 400 is the right one based off wattage ratings.

Hopefully someone with more info can help us out.

Andy at vertex was a big help. Impeller was In stock and at my door in 3 days! Was also 30ish dollars cheaper than online stores!

I've been running the Tunze hydrofoamer 9420 for some time now (Just about a year) with excellent results. Had my original impeller shaft chip as well. Heard of many people having that same problem so I went with the tunze and couldn't be happier.
Back in August I reached out to Vertex about the issue. Sent them a few pics and they sent me a new impeller at no charge. I now have the original pump as a backup.

@HollidayReefer, @Quakers77

I was told from a Sicce USA representative that the Sicce PSK 1000 impeller would work as a replacement impeller for the Vertex Omega 150 skimmer. I purchased the part today and can confirm it fits but have not had a chance to run the pump yet. Note, the PSK 1000 design regarding the wheel part is different than the original impeller but that is basically just a way to break up air into small bubbles (and I suspect the newer design my be better than the older impeller design in that regards).

That's good news. Hope it works as well as the original. I'm no longer using my 150 as I upgraded to a 180i. If I have issues with the 180 pump I'll have to inquire with Sicce to see which would be a direct replacement for that one. Good luck with it and let us know how it performs when you get a chance.
