Vertex Omega for a 75 gallon display

So I plan on getting a Vertex Omega for my 75 gallon build, but I can’t decide if the 150 is enough or if I need to go with the 180i. Any suggestions?

The 150 has been great in my 75 for 15 months and I highly recommend that one.

It’s quiet and just runs. I haven’t had any issue with it after the first week.

In the first week it wouldn’t reliably start. I took the pump and impeller out and reinstalled and did this a couple times. And I ran it in a brute tub for a week and after that it’s had no issue.

Also I run it at this water level and haven’t had any adjustment issues like some people have reported.

The 180i is way over sized for that tank and will likely strip the water of organics and not function stably. The Omega 150 is the largest skimmer i would suggest on this tank size, you may also want to check out our Somatic line of skimmers.

That’s one of the good things about omega. Can be air and flow adjusted, as well, known to be rock steady skimmer

I have the 150 on my 120 build. It's performed just fine. I would stick with a 150 unless you plan on upgrading tanks soon.
