I currently have started a 57 gallon tank with 30 gallon sump. I am having some trouble choosing between two skimmers. Vertex Omega 150 and the Super Reef Octopus SRO-1000INT. What do you guys recommend? I would like to know some personal experiences with the two units . OR if you guys recommend anything else please let me know your thoughts.

Look closely at the details of each skimmer
They should be user friendly and effective
The ability to easily remove parts for cleaning.
Also the functionality of water control (input, output, water height, air control)

This will save from a lot of headaches!

I have used SRO before and I jus setted up a new tank 3 months ago...personally I think the vertex skimmer is much better than the SRO.
*i don't have any exp wit Omega as I have the Alpha 250. But you can't go wrong wit a Vertex skimmer

I used the Vertex 130 on my 75g tank and am now using the 180i on my current tank. Build quality is great! Does a great job and easy to take apart and clean. I've never used a Reef Octopus skimmer.
