Hi all,

I have just installed a vertex RODI I picked up New in box from a local market.
I am not getting any pressure on the dial.
I’m getting decent flow and 0 tds water out the other side. I have confirmed this with 2 meters.

now it had this weird restrictor I have never seen before. I think it came out of the drain valve tubing (attached a photo)

or a broken gauge ? As it’s an old unit ?
Any idea where this part goes ?
Thanks all

The piece that came out of the drain valve tubing is probably a flow restrictor which slows the flow out the drain and helps the unit produce RODI water.
To figure out the issue with the pressure though, going to need a lot more pictures of all your tubing connections so we can see how the water is going from your source through the whole unit. Unlikely the pressure gauge is broken and even if it is the water would still flow if everything is connected properly.

thank you so much for coming back to me. So the setup is as per the factory. The unit comes mostly pre plumed out the box. Have added all new membranes and filters etc.

All I did was conect the red to my drain and blue goes off to my barrels via another 2 stage DI resin (probably not needed but I had them anyway)

I have attached some photos. Excluse the leaks I am still trying to test to see why I have no pressure but good output.

Hmm well it is possible the gauge is broken if your flow and tds are where they are supposed to be. Tubing looks correct from what I can see. Is the pressure gauge on the output side of the booster pump? Best spot for the pressure gauge IMO is after the carbon block so you can tell if the sediment and/or carbon block are clogging up and need replacing. The pressure pump is running correctly?

You could always try a new gauge. Probably standard 1/4 threaded fitting.

Have you checked to see how much waste water/RODI you are getting?

Thank you again,

I am getting decent flow out of both waste and production water lines.
with this unit the gauge come pre attached right on the booster pump so I haven’t moved it.

yeah from what I can hear the pump runs correctly. Comes on after the unit does it flush etc.

Might have to try a new gauge
