Vertex RX-C 6D Calcium Reactor

I have been interested in buying one of these reactors and have read some reviews and it seems that it is a great calcium reactor with a poor connection of the circulating pump. Has anyone here successfully modded a different pump for this reactor? I have tried a search and haven't been able to find much.

Is there a calcium reactor anyone would suggest instead? Can't seem to find many people using the vertex one for any info, maybe that's a bad thing haha
