Hi all

Been reading here for while and was also active as another user but forgot my login details. ..

I've been reading great stuff here about vertex but cannot share the same enthusiasm. Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong. While on a business trip we apparently had a power out back home and although my wife is taking care of the aq while I'm away she didn't notice that after the power out, the lamp had reset to some default and was now pumping 100% for who knows how long into the aquarium instead of less than 50%!!!!

Result: algae bloom, several corals dead and general mayhem. I had some friends come to the rescue, but quite a few things are dead and gone...

Question : is this reset normal for these lamps? Or is there a quartz battery in the lamp for these kinds of situations? It can't possibly be that if the power is out, the lamps reset to a default. That would be a serious design flaw. Programm was loaded via PC in expert Mode.

I'd appreciate any feedback you have on this. If this is normal for this lamp, I am tempted to switch to something like an orphek.
