let me start off by saying I want to change to zeovit right after the holidays, and in their guide they recommend the use of a venturi skimmer, not a needle wheel skimmer. Granted most skimmers now are needle wheel, so that is why I am considering the Life reef skimmer. Although my only complaint is that it looks like a GOOD DIY project, so for some reason it tempts me to make my own.

I purchased a Vertex 150, for my Read Sea REEFER 450.

I purchased the Vertex under the BRS "rose colored glasses" however I find myself constantly tweaking it and adjusting it every day, and I have never reached that moment, of "it is finally dialed in"

I am looking at the Tunze 9415, and the life reef, because they both have 1 thing to dial in, and that's what i want simple to dial in and efficient.

What are your thoughts and perspectives with regards to ZEOvit recommendations of a venturi, non-needle wheel skimmer?

thoughts on Tunze vs Vertex skimmers, and vs Lifereef.

Let me just say I would love to win this giveaway, it would make the torment of analysing different skimmers, and replace those feelings with rainbows and unicorns in knowing you got the best skimmer and it was free!

This may be a duplicate post, but wanted to make sure i followed the instructions to a T, for a chance to win the new skimmer!

Love Lifereef very well built, simple to operate. don't know about your DIY skills but Jeff does some awesome work

Thanks @Black Pearl I have been eyeing different tanks with life reefs, and I am truly taking Life reef into consideration, mostly because of the tons of positive feedback i have heard on the forums. Also, it was the reef @d2mini recomended too.

That's the source, then I had the conversation on the phone with Jeff and I Knew i needn't look any further

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but that contest is over. The prize was already claimed.

I've been thinking about the Tunze skimmers for an upgrade I'm working on. I've also had a lot of people recommending the lifereef skimmers. I don't like the height of them, but supposedly they're great.

Bad news in dead @mdbannister oh well i play the lotto too and never win, so the one day of hope i had with the small possiblity of me winning will have to be enough :P
I have spoken to Jeff, and I respect him and his products, I am also a someone who likes things to look a certain way, and with lifereef, it doesnt do it for me asthetically. I know thats not the main prioirty, but it is a factor. either way i will continue to investigate.
