I just wanted to make a thread on my newest additions to my tank because I’ve never seen Montipora capricornis or digitata’s that are as vibrant as these two

Just to see how vibrant it actually is, that’s just a phone taken image

No pics? Guess we'll just take your word for it. ;)

Look like nice ones.

Look like nice ones.
They are, they look like highlighters have been used on them they’re that bright. Under white light they look like regular red & green monti caps, but under blues (I’ve made the tank permanently blue now) they’re basically blinding lights

it just doesn’t give them justice, I wish I had a proper camera but I’ve decided to grow my tank more before getting a camera

Where did you get them? My monti caps are all boring and orangeish.
I got them from my LFS (Reef dreams in the uk) they were almost sold twice and then third time lucky and they got sold to me. I have no regrets either (Although they were £49 where most monti caps are £10)

A lot of corals that my LFS get are vibrant, I don’t know how often they get montis like these (And if they do then you have to take first dibs to get hold of them)

I’m hoping to get them to graft then be able to frag them and trade some frags into my LFS (Keep one or two frags for my nano and another in the 4’ tank)

Or even any montipora’s as vibrant as them (These are two Monti caps that are growing up at the minute)

You're lucky. I have not seen any montis that really pop the same way acros do. Maybe some forest fire digi, but the colors always seem muted. Maybe it has to do with light or water chemistry?

Just get an IceCap cell phone lens kit for $30.
You will be amazed at what it will do.
Here is an example.
Their are many before and afters in my build thread.

I’ll do that then! It looks so good

Even my forest fire digi is muted more than these monti’s. No other coral in the tank was as vibrant as they were which is why they stood out the most in the tank they were in

Get the Orphek cellphone lens kit. It comes with a Macro, polarized wide angle, orange, and yellow filter lenses that are made of glass. It even comes with a little case for them. It cost something like $30 on amazon in US.
