VERY disappointed in LRF

So yesterday we got the new that our LFS would no longer be able to carry LRF because Larry has decided to sign an exclusive deal with a reptile store! Not only is it far from a "good" fish store the owner actually had the odacity to try and charge me $5 to come in his store the first time I showed up, just because he has his pets in the store and none of them are for sale!!! Grr and on top of that the other store is price gouging the heck out of larrys products!! Sad to say but a lot of our local reefers will be boycotting his product unless we travel 4+ hours to get it.. I still can believe that Larry would go to an exclusive deal with a reptile store that hasn't even made it past its year mark of busines

Drew, I typically do not do exclusive relationships for stores that carry LRS. However in this instance the store in question has gotten behind LRS and converted their growing customer base over to LRS foods as well as their service clients. They were the first store to bring LRS to the small town of Grand Junction and go out on a limb with a new brand. This was not done for greed because I would have likely made more money selling to all three stores in the 10 mile radius. The store in question asked if they could have exclusivity for a while since they were the first to bring our food to the area and I said why not. I felt I owed them that favor to grant them exclusivity for a short period of time. These types of arrangements are not that uncommon in our hobby. Is it going to backfire? Well maybe, but the best I can do is learn from my mistakes and not offer to do this again if asked. Live and learn or so they say.

I have seen photos of the "reptile" store and there are in fact several tanks that are installed and several others that appear to be in the process of being set up. This store does not charge admission to enter the store, however I believe there is a "zoo" type area in the rear of the store where folks can pay $2 to enter and see large reptiles and other animals. I have also confirmed that our 8 oz pack of foods are sold at $21.99 which is well within the industry norm for LRS.

You did not personally have a transaction with this company so you are not technically allowed to leave feedback. You're posting on behalf of a local fish store and the arrangements they may or may not have with a food distributor. This is none of any of our business. It also has nothing to do with customer service or the quality of the product of this company.
