Well that sucks! At least you didn't get a bunch of fancy high dollar ones! Need to figure out why, then try again. Birdnests can be finicky, but an ORA frogskin should be pretty resilient. Good luck!

I cut off all of the rtn'd skeleton and it seems to be recovering ok. The acro was completely lost

Based off the sediment sitting on the rock and look of the substrate I would take a gander that this tank was just set up

Hope that's not the case, but if so it explains the RTN.

No it's been running for 5months. I had just done a water change and the sand got a little stirred up(shallow sand bed). The birdsnest seems to be recovering and I think I see a little bit of new growth(just covering where I cut off the pieces of rtn'd skeleton gaining flesh over it. ) so I'm hoping for the best.
