Very strange!!

Ok something very strange just happened to me just now!!
I was re-locating some stuff in my tank due to not getting along...
I have this very pretty mushroom

I relocated him and he did somethingvery strange, he started letting out this curly stuff from his middle( the belly button), its kinda white and stringy, curly..

Seems 5 mins later its slowly but surly going back in...
Anyone know what it is???

But why would his guts come out because i moved him, then slowly he puts them back in?

I have moved my other mushrooms before, this never happened so i was wondering if this ever happened to anybody else!

I've found it has happened to mine if I hit them on something while moving them. I believe the mushrooms will do that when stressed

Its just stress related. Let them be for a bit and all will be fine.

Thank you so much, i thought it to be a some type of defense mechanizm to cover it up so nothing happens to the body

But stress makes sense too

Might be its mesenterial filaments. Corals extend them when they perceive a threat (usually from another coral).

I agree with stress. I've seen it happen a million times then they go back to normal.
