So I’ve had an elegance coral for about 2 months now. Everything was great until my clown decided it wanted the elegance to host it. She irritated the heck out of it for a few weeks. It slowly stopped opening. Finally I added a BTA and moved the elegance to the opposite side of the tank. Now she leaves it alone, but I think the damage is done. For the last two weeks it closes fully at night, but during the day it doesn’t extend, just opens a little in the middle, no tentacles extended and oral discs wide open. Some days it extends a little bit. The clown does still go to it occasionally and loves on it for a few minutes.
Is this the beginning of the end or a case of wait and see?
Just did tests the other day, can’t find my notebook to post parameters, but everything was where it needs to be and has been stable and consistent. MG was a little high but not by much. Everything else’s is doing very well.

Hi! Protect the elegance or temporarily remove the clown. Simple eggcrate box around the elegance will let it get all the flow and light it needs but prevent the clown from harassing it. Try some reefroids to convince it to open up
