Hello,
I am about to make some big work on my reeftank and I am planning the work. There is some questions about viability for partial system I would like to be sure. I have different possibility to make it and I want to know the best one

1) I would like to set up a small frag tank in order to keep my corals during 4-8 weeks while making some transfer. I plan to setup a stand alone tank with only light (T5), balling, a small mechanical filter with some ceramic media inside it. No live rock, no sand, no fish, no skimmer. Maybe some snails. Does it will work ? Should I place a few live rock ? Should I place at least a skimmer ?

2) I will cure some live rocks, in a plastic drum, with only a small pump. No light (to kill algea) for 4-6 weeks. I plan to not place a heater, the room will be at 20 degrees. Did will it work ? It will stinks ?

3) During the transfer, I will place a yellow tang for 4-8 week in a 60 liter tank, is that supportable for such fish ? Is that a bad idea ? It is actually medium - small with about 8 cm long.

Thank you for you help !

Cheers

If the problem is GHA, You could use this: Vibrant Aquarium Cleaner for Marine
If not your plan looks good.
Some rock in the frag tank would be good
Curing the rock will stink some
Tang will be fine for that time
