I have been dosing Vibrant to control my mushroom explosion which are killing my corals. It did put the mushrooms into a very slow receeding state. It also killed off my lovely chaeto. Since the Vibrant serves the same purposE as the chaeto I can not help but think that for those who do not run a sump that dosing Vibrant or perhaps vinager would pretry much serve the purpose of a refugium. Of course w/o the sump there is no place to hide equipment but some reefers go sumpless. I am upgrading from a 75 to a 90 and 30 frag tank combo. I am also putting down new flooring. To make the move easier I took about 400 heads of nuclear candy cane, 3 dinner plate sized montipora caps and a dozen head coloney of frogspawn to my lfs. Now I can set up the 30 with a skimmer and back filter in a spot that has the new or down, tear down the 75, finish laying the floor, set up my miraclesson 90, transfer the corals into the 90, and move the 30 next to the 90 and plumb it into one system. I am tired just from thinking about it. I bet the Vibrant will be a help when I am running the tank sumpless.
