Hey guys!
I was asking myself today, if you could add Vibrant right from the start oft the tank (during the cycle)? I, for myself, am right at the one week mark of my new tank and still have a lot of Vibrant left from the bubble algae outbreak in my other tank. Where it did a good job. So what do you think about that? Is that maybe a good preventative method to avoid nuisance algae to even start growing? Don’t get me wrong, I still want some algae to grow, but I don’t want anything to get out of hands. I am looking forward to your opinions :)

Head over to the Vibrant thread in General sub forum and ask. I'm not sure I would recommend doing that.

I would not do it on a cycling tank. Think it would probably prevent some of the natural things from happening. Just my 2 cents

refuse it simply because someone is charging. if it was free to try, thats different. never be required to pay continually to reef successfully, we have other ways avail

we do not have to buy products to be free of those invasions, we turn out every pico reef in the world free of those invasions without a purchase. large tankers can do what pico reefers do to be 100% not invaded across posts, they just won't. (direct access cycling, allowing no uglies, making scapes modular so they're accessible as all removable rocks can be detailed in guiding to be invasion free outside the tank) the rule most large tankers follow is stack it in, see what happens, work from the water, always be slightly behind the invader.

what large tankers demand is only working via the water, but direct willing access reefing fixes the issue outside the water. I still wouldnt recommend a retail reliance of this nature its too costly and doesnt work on more than about 4 total invader groups Ive heard of. vibrant has a very narrow application band for sure

I didnt think about that. You have a good point there and on a long run it will get costly, yes. Maybe it would also be some kind of cheating as well.

Yes i was thinking about the same. I will just let nature do it‘s thing and see what happens. I was just thinking of my last tank (my first one) and how hardy some nuisance algae were. But this was probably due to my inexperience. This time i will be more cautious with everything though.
