Hi all,

I recently bought a bottle of Vibrant (8oz) dosed it once and did more research only to find out that you're supposed to use a skimmer with the product....yes not my best purchase.

Anyway, i only dosed 3mL from the bottle (approximately 230mL in the bottle when new), so basically brand new and unused. Would like to ask $25 - sells $30 plus shipping new - or trade for coral.

Located in Acton, MA. Local pickup prefered....doesn't really make sense to pay shipping.

Thanks!

I didn't realize skimming was a requirement for the use of Vibrant. Let's see what @UWC has to say.

Won't regular water changes be ok while using vibrant?
They may be depending on your wc schedule. But my understanding is that the skimmer removes the excess bacterial mass and also increases oxygen levels in the aquarium as the bacteria consume alot of oxygen.

Vibrant works, and works well from everyone I have talked to about it. I just dont have a skimmer, so I would rather not use it the moment. I dont want to waste the product, so I am trying to pass it along to someone who can use it. I would return it if I could.

I talked with a reliable coral grower locally, and he told me skimming with Vibrant is a must as not only do the bacteria consume lots of oxygen, there is also a carbon source...basically carbon dosing with added bacteria in the bottle. Or that is my understanding anyway.

I've been using it about 5 weeks on a tank with no skimmer and have been very happy with the results so far.

It makes sense. Science

I dose once every 2 weeks, water changes weekly.

I've been going almost 2 months with great results too. I also dose Miceobacter7 weekly.

My tank is 13g, dose 1ml every 2wk, 2.5g water change weekly. Water is crystal clear. I have purigen and chemipure as well.

55 gallon, using the recommended 1 mL per 10 gallon weekly at the moment. Was having to clean my glass multiple times per day and battling a gha invasion at the time I started using Vibrant. After the first dose, I didnt need to clean my glass for about a week. 5 weeks in, the hair algae is significantly reduced. Zero issue with O2 depletion.

I mean every system is different. I bought it in Hope's of it helping with some bubble and gha. It's good to see you 2 have had no negative effects. What do you use fir filtration? Socks, floss?

Floss and carbon. Extra h20 changes to manage the algae die off.
