VIDEO FINALLY--unknown coral feeding/pulsing

I have been struggling with a way to upload this HD video onto the forum so you can view it. So forgive me for the delay. You'll need to blow up your screen as big as you can. They will not open and close all at once. Think of barnacles or tube worms they kinda sporadically open and close here and there.

Most of the action happens on the lower half.

Just saw your video, excellent video. Beautiful softie. Polyps remind me of scleronephthya colonies. But, it's not a scleronephthya. Thanks for sharing, comrade

It's not Pink Japanese nepthya, that I know for a fact. I take it (I actually have three but the one I think is stereoneptheya) to a lab Wednesday to have it photographed under a microscope and other type of macro equipment. The information will be sent to a biologist in Australia to see if it's a known species or if his initial suspicions are correct and it's an unknown species of coral. I have two that are like this. The one pulses more than the other, but by all appearances they are pretty much the same except for color. One has more yellow in the stems than the other and the yellow of the lesser one has a more orange tint. So far they seem to be doing well. After I know what I have for sure and hopefully know how to take care of it so it truly thrives (it seems to be doing well now but who knows) I hope to make some frags of it.

In my thread on dendronephthya, one of the past postings, I had one very similar to what you have, but I had it hung vertically, so looked different and the tank was nps, so no really good lighting, I rigged up a 6500k fluorescent bulb, did fine for some months. But, the vendor who sold me them, said from Australia.

Yeah mine looks similar to that when shrunken. It didn't come from Australia though. From what I understand it came from Vietnam very close or right over the line of China.

Thats interesting, the vendor who sold me it, owed me some dendronephthya corals. ......from Vietnam. After few months he gave me 4 corals and that was one of them. Your making me think.......

Very possible. If you can get in touch with him, I'd love to buy more. I'm in love with them really.

COOL it was just a guess.
I hope it becomes an easy coral and fast grower so I can get a frag that thing is beautiful!

Yeah, I didn't mean to sound like I as being snippy

And yes, man I hope it proves to be an easy grower too. I have a feeling it will be a SLOW grower though. :/. Hopefully I'm wrong about that and in a year I'm screaming for someone to weed it out of my tank
