I have my old 46 gallon system that is still complete with some return pump and protein skimmer. Would this be an OK option ago so I don't have to buy a hang on back filter? Its got the orbit LEDs and cobalt heater.

Biological filtration in required and very important. You will need a filter of some sort. A hang-on filter like the AquaClear would work well. The skimmer is optional.

ok, i get it. Because we do not keep live rock in our QT tanks, a disposable filter pad or some other means of biological filtration is required. Makes sense and I'm glad I asked.
