Good Day R2R Community,

I currently have a red sea reefer 250 stock, my biggest pest peeves are the drain valve, and the miniature sump. Aside from that after your tank matures you often have to clean out the valve every so often which can be a tad annoying. This year I planned to do some some renovations in regards to a custom sump, and new wooden stand so I can show off my sump and not hide it with the current stand. Here is the original stock photos and I am currently making the wooden stand to house my 40-inch sump. I do plan to replace the drain valve with a gate valve, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

My fellow reefers, you can follow me @ vinny110_reef on instagram

Happy Reefing Everyone!

After 1 coat of Expresso 273 wood finish stain along with sanding/staining of clear gloss polycrylic protective finish we have this end result

Open stands are cool.. except when you have toddlers! Mine makes a bee line to the tank when i do maintenace.

thanks, have you thought about covering it up? I'm thinking about using cabin style sliding doors, haven't source materials yet though.
