Vinyl Tubing Reef Safe?

So I bought vinyl tubing from Home Depot the other week. I connect it to my return of my reactor. This week I checked on it, and the tube turned from transparent to a white, foggy color texture....The tube also feels really hard compared to when I got it. I looked at the tag on the leftover tubing that I didn't use and it said "This production chemical known to the state of California to cause cancer.....". what the heck...... Is this like a normal thing or what.....? I'm really scared right now since it has been pumping water into my sump for like a week.

There are lots of grades of vinyl tubing.....not all is like what they sell at home depot, which is for utility purposes.

The additives that make the plastic transparent have leached out. The same thing happens in my RO vat.

Though I have to add I haven't actually seen this happen in saltwater....all my tubing is the same brand (same reel in fact) and it DOES do that in RODI, but DOES NOT do it in saltwater.

I just touched the white stuff, and it's slimy. The tube feels harder than usual. The tube that I got came from Sioux Chief. BTW only the part in the water of the sump are white, and the remainder of the tubing that is out of the water is still transparent.
