Ok guys

Installing new red sea reefer 525XL. and trying to connect my return pump to the return down tube but hell this clear vinyl tubing isn't very flexible. how do you make it more flexible than the shape it was rolled up in ?

Hair dryer.... That would take a while though

Hot water . Boil water & soak the hose in it, after a few minutes, straighten out and press it or tape it straight until it cools

Even really hot water out of the tap can work. I have done tap and boiling water poured on them. Stretch straight while hot and let cool straight.

Ok those all sound great but what i did was to tape it to a ladder in the sun and it at least got it to where i want it. next time i'm going to try the boiling method

Dude this is briliant!

Instead of a hair dryer I used a heat gun they get much hotter. Blow hot air through the tube try not to melt it. But give your self some extra length in case you melt it a little.

You can also soften these in an oven. 180-200 degrees for about 15min.
