Viparspectra 165w intensity?

Hello everyone, I'm getting a spectra in Monday and have some simple softies and one hammer in tank now (40 breeder). I want to add a BT anemone and more lps. I HATE blueberry tanks I like to be able to see the colors on the fish easier. Everything I've seen so far is recommending 95% blue. If I want a whiter tank, with just enough blue to get a slight glow from corals what should I use? I was thinking 25% white 35% blue?

As far as appearance; Adjust the blue/white ratio to your taste and leave it there.
Edit add; anyone telling you to adjust to a specific ratio of blue vs white is misinformed. I know from personal experience Corals can grow under 5000k or 20k, whichever color temperature you choose, just leave it there. Also understand the difference between color temps and the actual spectral energy of the lamp… To explain (and poorly) I would have to digress, ntm I’m no expert…

Not sure about those settings, but, I've been running two Viperspectra 165s for around 1.5 years. I have my blues set to 10 and my Whites on 1 for 4/12 hours. I have a RBT that has split three times and grow a mixed reef from zoa/paly to hammers to my first stick a few months ago. I did not manipulate my lenses. Goodluck.

Thank you I just didn't want to bleach out the corals and nem by having too much white

I have 3 sbreef extremes at 165w ea. I run blues at 100 and whites at 75 with two coral plus t5. How tall is your tank?

Oh I see a 40b. Try 50/35 to start.. don't be afraid of white light, please. It's not a nuisance.

Thanks I just don't want the sites to scorch the corals. From what I've been told blue doesn't but white can overpower them. I'm assuming that's maybe not the best advice

I would not recommend to keep the whites that high (50/35). The reason being that the viparspectra has a lot of white leds compare to blues (from other manufacturers). I personally keep my white around 10-15%.

My setup is a 54 gal corner. Slowly ramped from 30% blues and 10% whites to reach 80% blues and 15% whites in about 6 months. These are really strong lights and your setup does not seem to require that much par for now. Whites = more algae. (While they ARE important for corals, they benefit algae growth faster).
Also, raise it to around 13-14 inch above water level for better spread.

I was just giving an example, I probably went to high on whites my last comment. I don't know their bulb arrangement.. nonetheless don't be afraid of whites ;p
