Viparspectra 165w LED help (black box)

Hi,

I am new to the forums and I am wondering if anyone can help me out. I installed my light and was going through the settings and timers. When I was trying to set my ch1 (blue lights) I was setting them to 40% and it looked bluish but when the timer went on for these to come on it was a completely different blue then it looked like I set it to. I am not sure what I am doing wrong or how setting blue and white lights really work (first reef tank).

If anyone can help or has experience with these black box lights please let me know.

Does it look a lot more blue, almost purely actinic? What is your white channel setting? Are both the white and blue timers set?

When setting levels for the Viparspectra box, I believe it shows you both channels. When setting the blue channel, the white channel is on at the setting you specified, and vice versa.

However, when you set the timers, you must set the white and blue timers individually. If you only set the timer for the blue channel, only the blue channel will come on, resulting in a different blue than you saw when setting up the colors.

Thank you for such a quick reply. Yes, my channel 1 which is on right now is super actinic blue. So what you are saying is when I am doing the settings it is showing me my blue and white light mixed but then since my timer right now is only set for blue light, its not showing me what I am previewing while setting it up right?

I have an issue with mine, in the morning they come on as scheduled but they look all blues I wanted to change the intensity but it won't work I've reset it back to factory settings multiple times. I can manually change it but it won't reprogram so after a few seconds it skips back to original settings I first programmed it to. I called and they are sending me a new timer for some reason they think there's something wrong with it
