So I got two viparspectra 165w over my 75 galon reef tank.. lights both sit 16 inches above the waterline (Glass lid on tank). I run them at 25% blues.. and 1% white for only a few hours a day... my LPS are doing great..
My question is.... would anybody have an idea of what the PAR reading would roughly be on the blues?

I just tested my 300w over my 40 breeder this weekend.
At 12” above the water I was getting 200 par about 6 inches down and 100-120 on the sand bed. That was with 30 blue and 1 white

at 35 blue 5 white I was getting 250 6 inches down and 150 on the sand bed

since yours are higher up and you have a deeper tank I would turn them up a bit probably around 40-50 blue and 5 white

Thank you for the info. That gives me a good idea and a starting point

Hi! I have 2 of this lights and I’m running them on 25% blue and 20% white is it too much for corals? Im buying my first ones tomorrow! Thank you

BRS did some testing, and your glass lid is costing you somewhere between 25-50% of your par if I remember correctly.

You might want to think about going with a net top if you want more par but not increased light output.
