Question: Would 1 Viparspectra 300W LED panel be good enough for a mixed reef 90g tank? Tank dimensions are: 48x18x24. Was wondering If I could get away with using this one panel instead of 2 165W

I think your better off with 2. 1 can't handle 4 ft

I might be over kill here... but I went with 4 x 165W at 12" for complete coverage on my 4x2x1.5 90g.

But this comes from having 1x 165W on my 29g and wishing I had more light. So I tripled the volume and increased the light power by 33%.

So technically, I have more power than 2x 300W. The was 2 reasons I went this path:
1) I already had 1 of the 165s and only needed 3 more
2) Going in the perpendicular set up gives more spread front to back
