Viparspectra lights?

Recently saw these in use at a LFS and I have to admit I am impressed by the light and the price both. Is anyone running these 165w lights on a tank 30 inches tall or more and how well do they light the bottom of the tank? Pic?

I have been looking pretty hard at the XR30 g6 but I'm scared of the nearly $1k price tag since I will need at least 2. ,aybe 3 of those lights for a 96x24x31 300g tank.

I use one on a 2'x2'x2' tank at the fixture is 1' off the water. Iget so much light that I run blues at 100% and the white at the very minimum. Set like that I get a PAR of 110 -120 at the sand.

You will be just fine with them. Just set them up with a par meter.

I picked up a 300w and 3x 165w Viparspectre lights yesterday. Pretty sure the 300w and 2 of the 165w will be sufficient, giving me a spare/backup light.

softies, LPS, Nems. Going to hold off on most SPS for now. I have about 16 inches room above my tank, if light is 3 inches thick then I can get light about 12 inches above water. Water is about 27 inches deep. Tank is 96 x 24 x 31. Plan is to have 3 inches substrate, so actual water depth will be between 24 and 25 inches I think.

I run the 300s on my 125. At 14" above water and 78% blues only I'm 200+ on the sand bed. Started with 2 300s and added a 3rd behind the front 2 in the middle which i run at 45%. Wish I could find a 4th 300...hard to find these days. I too am going to get a 96x24/30x25 and plan on running 3 in the middle parallel with the tank. I will supplement front and back with light bars. They are incredibly strong though so a par meter is advisable during setup. I hate the whites in them but you could also diy mod them..I just run 1% white for a few hours while im work so I don't have to look at them lol. They grow sps just fine

I have Lights, 1x 300w and 3x 165w. All the led's work, no remote control for them. Got all 4 lights for $450. Even if it isn't a really good deal, I don't want to know because I am really happy right now.
