Still being new to this, I was curious how much volume a small amount (by weight) of dry live rock would be. I may end up wanting to put a smaller piece of rock in my Aqueon Evolve 2 than I currently have. So, I used a recent $5 off any order discount code and ordered some small amounts from BRS. I didn't weigh what they sent, but I received more than I imagined. I'm posting some pictures here to help others visualize what they might get for these small amounts. I have read of others getting more weight than they ordered, so YMMV.
I mentioned in my order notes that I was looking for pieces for a pico tank and requested the non-rubble pieces be about the size of what would fit in a sandwich bag. I think I might be able to get one in a quart-sized bag, but I bet the larger one would take a gallon-sized bag. There were plenty of larger pieces in the rubble bag though, so I am very pleased.
BRS Dry Live Rock Rubble (by the pound): 1 pound at $1.69
BRS Fiji Dry Aquarium Live Rock: 2 pounds at $2.79 per pound = $5.58
Subtotal $7.27
Shipping & Handling $10.70 (USPS Priority Mail)
Discount -$5.00
Grand Total $12.97
Considering it would cost me about this much in gas just to get to Huntsville and back, the rock was practically free.

Never had ANY issues with it leaching Po4. IMO I think that was all a bunch of rumors. Definitely not proven.
