Visualizing Flow

Dana, fwiw i have a Chinese led and i have mine dialed way down. Whites are at 5% this includes red and green. Blues at 25% and ramp up to 30% for a few hours. Two purple leds are at 20%. When i turn up any more than that tissue is receding away by the next day. Tank is only 16 inches deep and lights are 11 inches off the water. Ive heard of people running them way higher, but i dont know how. It is a beast. Way to powerful to run at max or even near full power.
Good comment. Years ago, when I was at Wildlife, we tested a Fusion sulfur lamp that made so much light that it maxed out my PAR meter at 20,000. The thought at the time was that more was good, maybe even better. Now, some people are maintaining corals at PPFD of 25 to 30. Yup, that black box makes a lot of light and I am watching the corals closely for reactions. Wish the PAM fluorometer wasn't such a pain (time consuming) to use...

Following, my husband and I have been struggling with this. Driving us nuts! Hope you enjoyed the eclipse and Wyoming! Our traffic on the freeways is usually not so heavy. Sorry there were no LFS for you to visit. But the eclipse was really amazing.

Do you have an update Dana? I use fiji pink in the 180. Center of tank is where the sand goes in the tank too. Have been experimenting with the Vortec modes and velocity also. Dont like cleaning sand of zoas...ugh
