I posted a thread yesterday about what people use for nutrient export. Vutamin C dosing came up. Who else has heard of this? It was stated that vitamin C dosing is used when zoas are sick and that a byproduct of vita C dosing was a decrease in nuisance algae.

Who has dosed vitamin C and why did you choose this method? What were the results. thanks for mentioning it @icecool2 and @Lowstorm

I have also heard of people using Vitamin C as a form of nutrient export... I dosed vitamin C for months and months in my tank, not for that reason, but for my zoas and I can tell you that I did not see any change while I was dosing and i did not see any change after I stopped dosing. During that time I tested a lot and after I stopped dosing I did not see any change either regarding nutrient export.

I think the general opinion of Vitamin C when it comes to zoas is that it doesn't work. At least thats what I've read from people that are zoa addicts on this forum. As far as carbon dosing, i'm not sure..

It was the cool thing to do 5 or so years ago, but I don't think there's clear evidence it is any different than other organic carbon dosing. :)

Yup, was Just a carbon dosing method. I liked It at the time. Easy to use, just mix in and dissolve.
