So far the Rainbow Explosion is a more drab version. It does get the tiniest green growth rim at the base I have not see on Vivid. It still might have long term potential. At this point in time, I would not pay money for it unless it was in a bargain bin hoping it's a sleeper.

I received my rainbow explosion when it was first released. It came as a white piece but outstanding polyp extension. Then it became green and now its red. It never lost its polyp extension. The beauty lies in its polyps and it can be very shaggy. Now back to original thread....more pics of confetti please..:)

Once mine settled it started to encrust like crazy. Dave from vivid told me if it’s happy it’s a fast grower

Here are some metal halide pictures. I think there had been some interest in "whiter" lights. My original frag came as two branches, although small. They broke apart so I placed them next to each other anyway. Because these are metal halide photos, there is virtually no flourescence as compared to what you would see with blue leds. You can see some green on the body but otherwise very bright and pretty pink. Mine are up high. If you are curious, I temperature corrected the photos to 20k in lightroom to match my metal halides and then I adjusted exposure. There is some difference between the two photos because on the second photo, I was literally on top of it and blocked a great deal of light. These are top down pictures. Since very few tanks are lit by metal halides, if you have t5's or leds, your frags should pop much more than what these metal halide lit photos demonstrate. Perhaps I should put in a disclaimer, Vivid's is my LFS. However, I get my acros the traditional way, I pay for them.

I will try to get around to taking some blue led pictures so the difference in lighting can be appreciated. My frags are small so not a lot to see, but they do fluoresce beautifully under blue leds.

Metal halide lit photos of Vivid's Confetti:

Thanks for this pic. My tank is MH too and I wanted to see what the color on this would be under MH. In fact the pink color is what I am needed in my tank so this would be perfect.

Now just need to convince myself to pay for it.

Some of the pictures look amazing but a lot of them look just like Tyree Pinky the Bear. The ones with yellow polyps definitely look unique though.

I have a pinky the bear too, looks like the same species, but different color morph with the confetti being much much more colorful.

I have had the confetti a month now so I figured I would upload a pic. It is still growing the base out but I notice the pink is starting to get much brighter. I have it placed about 20" deep to hopefully get the green in it, no luck yet with that.

Photo I took today. It was growing pretty good but stalled when I had a fish or this giant emerald crab knock the top of it off, twice. It has started to grow again so I look forward to next months photo.
