Vlamingi tangs aging

I haven't actually meant to buy the vlamngi tang, Got the whole tank and fish from someone who wasnt able to care for the fish anymore. When we first got Princess we were wondering what she was.. All tangs have the mark on their tail, and her eyes were just so beautiful and huge and we had no idea in the world what she could be.

What fish do you have? Is it Naso vlamingii?
Yup, thinking I should get another naso, I do realise they can easily fight, but what? with my other 6 tangs? What boss even is there if its just a huge group of fish, I wonder how my huma huma trigger got in the group.... Anyways, the 7 fish in the group?

Oh my! I wonder how 'princess'(the unicorn tang, as we named him/her) is going to fit in my 180 gallon tank..
He's going to be absolutely humongous, far too large for a 180 as an adult. About 24" if it's a Naso vlamingii. I'd suggest having a plan in place once he grows up, whether it's donating him to a local aquarium or upgrading to a 10 foot in-wall basement tank and posting tons of pictures so we can drool over it

Back when I was green at fish keeping, I bought a Unicorn Tang for a 6-foot tank. I LITERALLY watched it grow for about 4-5 weeks, right before my eyes. (I hadn’t done my homework.) It killed me to have to do it, but I brought it back to the LFS and admitted, “I made a mistake.” :(

I own a vlamingi unicorn tang, and its a juvenile. It has no horn yet, and im wondering how many years itll take.
Around 8-10 inches you should start to see the horn .. Mine started really showing at around 9 inches

I had to rehome a Vlamingi out of a 180 from juvenile to too big in 14 months - broke my heart as it was a true pet, not a specimen. Was starting to hurt itself on the scape

I was a make, started develop trailers and a swollen nose.

So yes, they grow FAST

Was down to see WWC last week and and they have a couple of big ones there too
